I was VERY disappointed in the Corporate experience. We had our flights cancelled and shifted by 1 day and Corporate refused to honor the shift and allow us to shift dates by 1 day. Inst3ead they made us pay for another night and we lost the first night. HOWEVER, we had 3 other families in our vacation group and ALL of them had Corporate accommodate them and allow them to shift dates without having to pay for another night. This is VERY disappointing and something we will be communicating to our friends when they ask about our experience. We called Corporate twice to ensure the resort knew the date shifts, however when we were at the resort they said there were NO such note in the system and we spent almost an HOUR of our vacation with the front desk trying to get this resolved. Again, a huge disappointment with Corporate. The onsite staff, manager, everyone else were wonderful.
See on TripAdvisorWe’re just home from the most amazing family vacation at Club Med Ixtapa. This was our first Club Med trip and we weren’t sure what to expect - and we just loved it. As one of our new friends said, it’s like “summer camp on the beach, for the whole family.”
We’ve got a 5 year old, and it’s hard to imagine a better hotel/resort-vacation with a young kiddos. So many friendly families, and so many activities for the kiddos, means it really does feel like a village - kids and parents all get to know each other, and the kids have the independence to roam around a bit in this safe environment.
The food was excellent - exceeded expectations. Plenty of variety for a week’s stay, with enough standbys and special options each day to keep all happy.
The setting is gorgeous - beautiful sunsets every night, wonderful beach with just the right slope and mellow waves. Ixtapa Island just offshore is a great day trip (I’d leave the young kiddos in kids club while going).
There’s a ton of activities and excursions - so you can be as active or as restful as you wish. The kids activities, in particular, are just amazing. There’s stuff for them to do from 8:45am until 9:30pm - and it’s fully open/flexible, so you can drop them off and pick them back up as often as you/they want throughout the day. Allows for a perfect balance of family time and couple/adult time, and you can dial it up and down depending on the kiddos’ moods. It feels like ‘camp’ more than it feels like child care, the kids really bond and enjoy.
My only critique, really, is that the rooms could use a cosmetic refresh. The layouts are good but the decor is on the dated side. That said, it bothered me our first day there - and then as we got absorbed in the amazing routine and “vibe” of the place, we promptly stopped caring about the dated decor. Especially for the highly reasonable price point.
All in all, can’t recommend highly enough for families. We’re already planning to return.
See on TripAdvisorClubmed Ixtapa offered us the best and most relaxing family vacation! We can't wait for our next one!
See on TripAdvisorOur second family trip to Club Med Ixtapa. The scenery and on-site activities are second to none. My teenage son and I got a great workout doing the weekly Adventure Kayak to Isla Ixtapa with the water activities team (Paolo, Franco, Anna, and Dorian). Nightly entertainment shows and dancing are favorites for our family as well. Food/drink is plentiful of course, but that’s not necessarily why we come to the resort. The G.O.staff is always warm and welcoming and create a relaxing and fun environment for their guests. If your kids are old enough, they experience safe freedom to roam around and participate in the activities as much or as little as they want. Great experience overall again !
See on TripAdvisorThe Club Med Ixtapa property is a great place to getaway as a family. The relatively small size and privacy is excellent for kids, who can have a bit more freedom. The food options and quality are great, and the activities (day and night) are fun. A special thanks to the GO team, especially the Circus team (Chucho, Pablo, Holly, Edgar, Ceci, and Gerardo) - thanks for all the flying fun and bravery on the hard catches!, Tennis Instructors (Luna, Jorge, and Dylan) - thanks for all the great coaching in tennis and pickleball and the fun tournaments, and GOs Izzy and Paulo (great to see you again, we love your energy!).
See you next year Ixtapa!
